I was commissioned to make the art for Death By Dub’s Resurrection EP. Dan Africano wanted to be able to cut the image up into 4 parts, and to release 1 single a week with a different quarter of the artwork. He showed me King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s Quarters! record as an example.
I had a difficult time conceptualizing and executing this idea, but ultimately feel very happy with the result! I bought a circle cutter to help bring this vision to life ✂️ 8 pieces of paper, 10 x 9”.
In February I was invited to check out Death By Dub’s recording session at Color Red Studio, 10 minutes down the road from my apartment. It was beautiful to witness the band laying down some of these incredibly special songs.
I quit my full-time job in the music industry 3 years ago. Since then, handmade collage has become my primary passion and focus. Creating a visual element to accompany a band’s recording is one of the most exciting and fulfilling aspects of my career so far.
