“Okay, so—er—what if—I mean—” Harry was struggling to find the right words to use. “I mean what if they think I’m like— their mother or something?” He shrugged. “Maybe that’s why they keep trying to follow me out of the cave after we feed them? Maybe I should stay closer to the cave.” He suggested.
He gave Harry a minute to get the words out, wondering just where this might be going. when Harry finally got his question out, Charlie couldn’t help but grin a little. “You want to stay in the cave with them, is that what I’m hearing? Harry, I love dragons more than most and even I won’t sleep in the cave with them. Why don’t we try a ward that won’t allow them out instead?”

“Isn’t it?” Harley answered wistfully. The solid gold bracelet had rubies set into the top of the band and it closed via a small, chained clasp on the bottom. “I know we shouldn’t spend our money on frivolous things, Henry, but—it’s just so beautiful.”
Harley couldn’t help the way he stared at it; he really did have a fondness for gold that he couldn’t explain.
“Look! They have one in silver with emeralds instead. We could both get one to represent our houses.” He suggested hopefully.
He could see just how much Harley wanted the bracelet. It was really a bad idea, to spend a lot of money on a couple of bracelets, but he couldn’t deny his brother something like this. He picked up the silver bracelet, looking it over, and finally sighed.
He gave his brother a quick smile, to tell him he was considering getting them.
“I have another idea. Why don’t we see if they can’t swap the stones, so we always have a reminder of each other? And maybe get them enchanted a bit, so we know when one of us needs help?” And by one of us he meant Harley, his more impulsive half.
