A VIEW FROM THE BOTTOM OF WAVERLY’S DEATH CHUTE - A view from the bottom of the notorious “Death Chute” tunnel underneath the infamously haunted Waverly Hills Sanatorium (1911) in Louisville, Kentucky. Featured on numerous paranormal TV documentary programs (“Scariest Places on Earth,” “Ghost Hunters,” “Ghost Adventures,” and others), the former tuberculosis hospital at Waverly Hills is considered to be one of the Most Haunted Places in the country. Many of the 64,000 patients that are believed to have died here travelled down this 425 ft. (once 525 ft.) subterranean tunnel for final transport and disposal - sometimes stacked at this very spot. A variety of ghostly phenomena has been alleged and reported in The Death Chute. It is, indeed, a very spooky spot to experience - especially alone and in the dark!
