Highschool :-)
Scarlett sighed, shoving her books into her locker. ‘Another day, more boredom’. she didn’t particularly like school. Well, not as much as people assumed. Since, most always expected her to follow in her brother’s examples and do well. Well more her eldest brother, not that it really mattered. She took the books she would need and slipped it in her back. Shutting her locker as the bell went. Her next lesson was English. ‘Great’ she thought bitterly as she made her to the classroom.
She made her way quickly to the back of the class. In this lesson she happened to sit alone. Well, did. Just as the bell went; a boy with dark brown hair wandered in. She watched him carefully as he walked in, not fully realizing that the only empty seat in the class was next to her until she noticed him walking towards her. She shifted, moving her things out of the way. Waiting until he had sat down to talk to him. “Hello. New kid I presume?” She asked, as she turned towards him.
He glanced in her direction before nodding once. “Yeah, I just moved here…. I’m Demetri.” He replied in a laid back tone.
“Scarlett.” She simply said, her eyes flicking over him. She was still practising how to be able to deduce people like her brother could. Not that she she thought she was very good… yet. The conversation soon drifted off as they both pretended to listen to the teacher. “Bored….” Scarlett mumbled about 20 minutes into the lesson. He however heard and looked her way. He had to admit he was as well. The teacher seeming to just go on and on. He decided he should do something. “Can you act?” He asked her, in a low voice. Having had leaned over to her to avoid others around them being able to hear. Scarlett gave him a puzzled look. “Why?” She replied almost automatically. As she was unclear on why he was asking.
“I have a plan. I just need to know if you can.”
“Well, yes. But I’m not sure why you need to know this.” Scarlett remarked, her already low attention to the teacher slipping completely.
“You are good though, right? We need to make this believable.”
“I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“I told you already. I have a plan.”
“Okay, then I is. But I still don’t see what you’re ‘plan’ is. Care to explain?”
He simply grinned. “Of course. Theirs honestly not much to it.” he explained before continuing. “But what I was thinking was. With your supposedly ‘great’ acting skills you could just be able to get us out of this lesson. Honestly, all you need to do is make yourself look ill enough you can get me and you out of lesson.”
She looked at him, the idea floating in her head. she wasn’t sure about it, but she would probably do anything to get out of the lesson. “What then. Should I faint? Go all weak?” She said, more jokingly than anything.
“Yeah. Something like that.” She frowned at him.
“Fine, something like that then. Honestly, don’t know why we need all the effort. we could simply just lie. It’s so easy.”
“Yeah, it may be. But this however is a lot more fun. Honestly, you must agree that just going is a tad bit uninteresting. This on the other hand…”
“Oh, of course.” She smirked, but quickly stopped herself. This would be fun…..
Scarlett stood; he sat beside her watching her carefully. She was walking towards the books at the front of the classroom at the front. Not glancing at a single person as she made her way down. Also telling the teacher that she felt unwell while there. Which he dismiss with a simple wave of his hand, telling her to return to her seat. Which she almost did. On the way down fakes being dizzy, almost tripping. Which catches the students attention. Not that she notices. She returns to her seat. Everyone else dismisses this once more and returns to their work. This is when she finishes what she had started. She faints. To anyone who had not been aware of what she was trying to do; would believe this. Luckily, the thought didn’t occur to anyone else. “I could take her to the medical room.” He said, standing. Finding it amusing that she had almost actually fallen off the chair. Once he had helped her up and took her out of the classroom, once they were out of sight of the classroom. They both broke apart. Simply walking out of the school; to get away from the boredom. Even if it was just for a day.
