"HAIL THERE!" He stood with his sword in hand, still panting from the chase, sweat clinging to his brow beneath the helmet. "Friend or foe?! For I have been stricken enough by those who be foe today!"

{ ! } - " Oh dear, what a mess, " the lady clad in blue comments. " Are you alright, little one? "
"I'm okay...." Rupert wasn't, he was crumpled in the snow now.
The intrusion are handed a letter for Barbor !
The intrusion is in really good spirits today, big talks of a shower of some sort? They're all piled up in one spot chittering both in Roach and not-roach screes, Barbor approached and squatted before them, the letter rising up from the pile handing it to the demon. Some of them remain on it to read it for their intrusion leader. "!!~ !- ---/-O/-O--!!~"
"A wedding shower?~ At the 30th? That's just around the corner! Fuck yes! I wonder if I should bring something from my wine collection or save it for the wedding itself-"
{ ! } -- the young elven man approaches the tiefling, the sword on his hip gently bouncing with each step. It is not drawn at him, however, as the Knight instead asks:
" Pardon me, sir - do you happen to know the witch in the cabin on the hill ? She refuses to open the door for me. "
Maledos's ears catch the sounds of a guards approach before anything is said. He knows too well the sound sets that come with that particular thing - the slight jostle of his sword, the shifting of metal armor against leather. He doesn't pay any mind beyond his ear pointing that direction.
He really wish that the sound had continued, that the knight had just gone right by and he'd not had to deal with this--
This conversation about Maxime?
"The witch?" He asks, expression well guarded. Information might be more useful here than hostility, as much as everything about him loathed conversation of any sorts with the Guard. "She done somethin'?"
the snack that bites back...

{ ! } - Mother affectionately ruffles son's hair.
The young man lets out a grunt that soon turns into a soft chuckle. She may have interrupted him, but he can't really be mad at Mom.
" Oh, come on-- ! "
" I've got a commission to finish, you know. "
Vynathr has taken to sitting on the front lawn in much the same posture as a cat... 'loafing', as it was called. He felt somewhat useless in terms of easing the stress Eath and Hax have been through, but he will readily interfere with incomers to ensure they have no weapons nor ill will. Tread with caution.
[ooc note that would normally be in the tags but is in the post itself for visibility: please take this as an open invitation to interact with Vynathr in the context of @oflostinfound 's visit to @deathwxtch ! Even if we aren't mutuals, I will bend my rules to allow fair interactions for the duration of Eath and Hax's visit, as Vynathr will be involved in their protection. Those tagged can feel free to reblog so their mutuals are made aware.]

Emet-Selch would be a fool not to notice any particular prodigious person. Not only were they of value to him as Solus, they were of potential value to his true goals if they survived his next calamity. Gaius was one such person, but he was already being worked on by Lahabrea. His family, though... They were up for grabs. To varying degrees, and with varying levels of value. Of highest value and highest risk, there was Maxime. Oh, all her siblings had strength, but she had something much more fun. Unpredictability and connection.
It started when she was but a child. Put in a match, she struck out against the young Zenos, and broke the boy's nose. The boy, odd as he was, responded positively, and thus Varis had no avenue to punish the girl for her disrespect, with his son standing firmly in the way. It had been the most interesting thing to happen that month. Growing up, she took her training seriously, and followed her father not only in skill but in action, bold, seeing value where it was rather than valuing rigidity. Zenos quickly grew attached to the more neutral active presence in his life, and now they were here years later, and it was time for Solus to step in. After all, the aan girl had grown as far as her father could take her- it was time for a higher patron to foster her strength.
And it wouldn't hurt his mood to see Varis grit his teeth at the realization that a seemingly random aan was more interesting to the emperor than his own grandson. Oh, how he loved to irritate the man.
This in mind, he went to visit the training facility, patiently waiting in the hall for her class to end.
