Based on my limited exposure of them, debatebros are the lowest forms of leftist life and their only good opinions were literally browbeaten to them by their social circles. And I mean we all have opinions browbeaten to us by our social circles, but with these guys, it's *really* noticeable based on how they didn't seem to have understood or accepted the underlying principles behind them.
I know the US is a political hellscape where being a pathologically lying traitorous asshole is enough to win an election because the MSM wants their fucking photo-finish horserace, but we should never act like that's just how things are and they can't be any different.
Trump lost the debate, and it was not "3 on 1". He lost so hard he should consider retirement somewhere in St. Petersburg. "But the moderators were against him! How is that fair!?!?!!?" Trump was not playing by the rules of what a debate should be: an opportunity for people to back up their claims and make their cases in actual reality and in good faith. Telling insane, easily disproven lies is not approaching the debate in good faith and should be called out in much the same way a foul is called in a sport. So, no, Trump was not ganged up upon by the evil minions of George Soros: he just thought this was a "Fill a Pot with Diarrhea" competition, which is his modus operandi, when it was instead a chili cookoff, and the judges have a responsibility to make sure the rules are followed.
Debatebros and pseudointellectual hacks and conservatives have ruined discourse to such a degree, on purpose, that now all they need to do to "win" is yell slurs and then enough even dumber people will crowd around them and give them the illusion of victory. But it doesn't have to be that way. We don't have to let the assholes win, even if the local culture says they should. We can demand better.
Also, "playing the refs" is one of the foundational bits of American conservatism, right next to having a persecution complex. Why change your platform that's made of lies when you can just cry and bitch that everyone is so unfair for holding you to a standard you demand your enemies follow?
A Comparison of Communication Styles Involving Things People Don't Like
A person who mainlines disinformation all the time every day: Events like this are why common sense isn't so common anymore. It's sad to see people fall to the woke mind virus. We used to be a proud country that followed logic and reason. Now we are run by [Five solid minutes of the person projecting their failures onto others]. [People from history, almost assuredly white] would be severely disappointed.
The kindest, smartest person you know: That shit's stupid. Wanna know why that shit's stupid? [Hour long rant as to how and why that shit is stupid]
What I hate about twitter debatebros is that it's all sophistry. There is no intelligence or merit in their arguments. They get by on linguistic trickery and manipulate people into thinking they are smart when they are not.
