I First met Deb havens at her first parade of the summer. I was one of the first few interns to get on board to help her. One of my main reasons of interest was getting college credits toward my major at Grand Valley State University Photography. In saying this my first priority as an intern was to take photos of events she was in. Not only was it the first parade so far this year, but her first parade as a running candidate. Deb is running for Michigans 28th State senate this November. While running for this office, she suffers many more challenges than her running mates. Most of them have more experience and money to gain the populations attention, but she does not believe it will make a difference for having an equal chance at winning. Why I would say this is because, when we meet as a group and discus things, her experience in running and big budget are not key factors to her faith in winning. It is her faith in the voters and community that they will make the right choices when they step foot into the voting booth. For her it is communication and getting her hands dirty in the culture of Michigan. She loves our great state and it is with her positive attitude that nothing can bring her down.
