A huge thank you to @thenovl newsletter for this gorgeous and amazing debut read by @brandycolbert This is easily a 5 star read for me. I love how diverse, emotional and REAL this story is. It also hit so close to home. It's not often I find a ya novel taking on the topic of a mental illness so well. It was amazing to read a book where the parents are loving and kind and yet so very human, the relationship between Suzette and Lionel is incredible. I've been in her shoes and it's not always easy to do what is right when it means you might be shut out from your loved ones. I shall leave you with the synopsis below and link to preorder in bio! ☆☆☆☆☆ Synopsis: When Suzette comes home to Los Angeles from her boarding school in New England, she isn't sure if she'll ever want to go back. L.A. is where her friends and family are (along with her crush, Emil). And her stepbrother, Lionel, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, needs her emotional support. But as she settles into her old life, Suzette finds herself falling for someone new...the same girl her brother is in love with. When Lionel's disorder spirals out of control, Suzette is forced to confront her past mistakes and find a way to help her brother before he hurts himself--or worse. ☆☆☆☆☆ #littleandlion #brandycolbert #debutauthor #debutread #2017arc #ntptnreadinggoals #currentlyreading #thenovl #booknerdigans #bookishfeatures #bookstagramfeature #igreads #karllagerfeld #tobyilikecats #enamelpins #fujiinstax #watercolor #whatsinmybag
