omg I just had a question though did William name himself after William the Conqueror? just curious!
He did! Thanks for asking, I was waiting for a good opportunity to bring this up~
It goes like this: William was born Tynan Reaghe in a small village in Western England. He was Turned in the year 221 CE, and kept his birth name for another 800 years. After Tynan got heard of what happened in the Battle of Hastings (1066 CE), he decided to begin calling himself William. Mainly due to the fact that he was cocky and enjoyed the idea of sharing the name with a king, but also because the name Tynan was becoming less and less common, and therefore less safe to use.
Once written records became necessary to survive in the modern era, he legally became William Tynan Reade, changing his last name for ease of pronunciation.
