Bacon Scalloped Potatoes are a comforting and indulgent side dish that combines the richness of bacon and cheese with the creamy goodness of scalloped potatoes. Perfect for any meal!
Ingredients: 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes. 1 cup diced bacon. 1/2 cup chopped onion. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. 2 cups heavy cream. 2 cloves garlic, minced. Salt and pepper to taste. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley optional.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet until it's crispy. Take out and let dry on paper towels. Add the chopped onion and saut it in the same skillet until it turns translucent. In a baking dish that has been oiled, arrange half of the sliced potatoes. Add pepper and salt for seasoning. Over the potatoes, distribute half of the cooked bacon, half of the sauted onions, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. With the remaining potatoes, bacon, onions, and cheese, repeat the layering procedure. Combine the minced garlic and heavy cream in a mixing bowl. Evenly distribute this mixture over the layers of potatoes. Bake the baking dish for forty minutes in a preheated oven covered with aluminum foil. Take off the foil and continue baking for a further 20 to 25 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the top is browned. Before serving, if desired, sprinkle some freshly chopped parsley on top.
