Huffing and puffing, hands on her knees with her face flushed, chest rising and falling with her breaths. Her head spun, DIZZY from the lack of air, feeling warm enough to be hot. “A- Ayato-kun…” Out of breath, she barely got his name out, throwing him a glance before she fell flat on her bottom, knees bent and hands supporting her weight as she closed her eyes, focusing on getting OXYGEN into her lungs. His words made her breath stop for a moment, half shock and half embarrassed at his compliment(?) until her body refused to wait any longer, and she choked, coughing before she quickly gasped for air. She felt sweaty, and her world was still spinning as she gathered her breath enough to speak.
“Be- cause…! I don’t have much stamina compared to others, so I have to… to train.” Their school was having a sports tournament again, and while she only had to join one, they all knew what happened last time. “When I was dragged to join in EVERYONE’Stournament, I thought I was going to DIE by the time it ended…” Since she joined all the brother’s and their tournaments, taking care of them, dealing with the backfires… That day had been HECTIC. Although she was by no means unable to run, she had never been quite so athletic, as her daily life had been school and taking care of things at church. Nowadays, it was worse, as she stayed silently in her room doing NOTHING but homework and passing time in the gardens. At this rate, she might as well gain unnecessary meat— then again, maybe not. Hopefully not.
Now that her breathing was NORMAL, she started to feel her body cool down, though still very warm. “I also thought I should exercise since I don’t move as much as I used to. Plus, I’m getting dizzy more frequently… So I was hoping if I gain more stamina, it will help me gain more r e s i s t a n c e to it too.” They both knew that wasn’t her fault, but what can she really say? Finding another route to solve the problem was her one solution for the time being. “This is so HARD though. I can barely breathe after a run. I’m so envious, you’re athletic right, Ayato-kun? I remember some of our classmates talking about wanting to SCOUT you for their sports club.” Smiling up at him, she gains a softerlook now that she feels better, the paleness going away.
“But since Ayato-kun is cheering for me too, I’ll try even harder! Let’s win this together this time, ne?” Hopeful again, she lets out a breath before she pumped her fists in front of her in a very small motion, d e t e r m i n a t i o n back now that she’s put it into WORDS. “I’ll go take a shower now. I’ll be making a snack once I’m done. Do you want anything, Ayato-kun?”
CUTE. The sight was unusual to the eye. She, a creature ever so fragile, was determined to restore her decadent health. The CIRCUMSTANCES which had been shoved into her bosom were not the sole cause of her demise. He was certain that her pure existence was frail in itself, her actions transparent. Howbeit, she would not bend; her determined fate revoked. To an extent, it was admirable. And noticeable, too, was her self-consciousness. Her weakness could some affright, skin paler than marble, touch at times colder than the moonlight. A doll for them to play with when bored, devoid of emotions at times so the repercussions would be null. Mayhap he poetized a great amount, considering her simple reasoning. Such a thought would remained caged within.
«It's a normal thing when you aren't used to make that much of a physical effort.» To him, it had been an easy task. Mayhap so easy that a task it could not be considered as. Of course, Ayato jogged and engaged in activities frequently. He was not one to seat still, even if, once or twice, he did cheat by resorting to his teleportation abilities. However, he was far from being idle. Sports were entertaining, and being focused on a goal made it more interesting. Athletes themselves could, for that, vow. What first was a nightmare to the simpleton, soon became an opiate to the addicted. More so, it was difficult for one to stop when they became competitive, which just so happened to be the vampire's case. He chuckled.
«Good. You should move around more. Gets your blood circulating.» Did his words have IMPLICATIONS? Of course they had. When did they not? In fact, she did not look too bad like this. It got his own blood flowing, his eyes with a brighter tint than usual, resembling a cat's that was up to no good.
«Heh! Well, Ore-sama is Ore-sama. Of course they wanna have me on their team! I've given it some thought, to be honest. Wouldn't be half bad. Plus, I'd get Chichinashi to cheer for me too. You'd come to the practices, wouldn't you?» It was a query while not really being a query; instead, a given data. Only one knows how apoplectic he would become should she fail to appear.
Her track of thought was... interesting. She viewed his words as cheering, apparently? He would not say they were. But now that she was confident, he felt like rewarding her. Not because she was naive (which she usually was), but because... somehow... it was a strange feeling. Her speech invoked this strangeness of «us», of «we». He was not used to that. He was not used to having a cause or ordeal that was shared by another, even if this one was silly in itself. He cannot help but to go near her, a soft smile on his lips (a rarity!). A hand is taken to her head, ruffling her hair in a boyish, camaraderie-ish way.
«Let's do it. Will be counting on you, so don't you dare failing me.» Her locks were now a mess, but Ayato was not concerned. She was going to take a shower in any case, and he could bet that she had days were bad bed hair was a thing.
«Hm~ Do you want any help with that?» And by that --- taking a shower. Not making the snacks, of course. About wanting something... Well, for a starter, HER. And he did not shy away from making her realize that (did he ever?), grabbing her arm and pulling it closer, just so he could lick it.
«DON’T TAKE TOO LONG. I know you’re seducing me on purpose, all sweaty like that. And you know I’m not patient. Seems you enjoy playing with fire more than I had predicted, Chichinashi.»
