So... here’s the deal, Orion were the only one who could make the Decay fall asleep. After Rowan’s death, Jay was blinded by hatred so they convinced Jacob to help them to perform the Ritual of Acceptance and Jay accept their curse but it got a lot worse. Decay always tried to possess Jay’s mind completely which makes them have terrible nightmares and then, they stopped sleeping. After that, Jay talks to Orion, saying that he wouldn’t be safe with them and they break up.
Jay get weaker, about to give up when Erika and Skye comes to them, claiming that Orion wasn’t well and they knew it was because of them. After some arguing, Jay decides to go after him, asking for his forgiveness.
After some drinking and some tears, they’re together again. The Decay that was consuming them, fell asleep almost instantly once he hugs them, but Jay was completely weak, so they faints in his arms.
Jay suffered a lot because of betrayal, that’s why is so difficult to them to trust people who’s not part of the Buccaneer’s crew. The first time Orion were able to calm the curse was the first signal to make Jay trusts him, and after that, they fell in love, giving him a Dagger with a symbol of protection, to always keep him safe.
