Dealing with an enemy that regrows heads
I once had a dream where a hooded, demonic figure was fighting a reluctant hero while both were soaring through a stormy sky. The demon kept using a sword to decapitate said hero, but the latter immediately regrew his head and continued fighting. Finally, after cutting his head off once more, the demon jammed some type of multi-pronged weapon down the stump and extracted a glowing section of the cervical and thoracic vertebrae. Once the evil snapped the spine in half, it broke the magic allowing the hero to regrow his head, thereby killing him.
I'm not sure what prompted the dream, but its logic provided an interesting way to defeat enemies who endlessly regrow heads. When I woke up, I wondered if such a trick would work on the Hydra.
