Time Never Stops
December break is liberating but I could tell I’m running out of time. I finally look at the day today and cringe. Spring semester is near and I’m just not quite ready to let go of late nights of quite reading and siestas.

“I’m learning the power of going away for the weekend and keeping myself company.” ~ Zoe Saldana
I am still on cloud nine after spending last weekend staying with Mid Wales Views in Rhayader, Mid Wales. Utterly exhausted with the run up to Christmas and after being poorly I couldn’t have thought of a better way to relax then visiting a new area of Wales and enjoying a couple of nights with no…

#Feministcare: TFW on winter break December 2016
Dearest Readers, Thank you for your continued support. Though we need each other now more than ever, TFW needs a break. This radical feminist, anti-racist, anti-imperialist intervention is the #thirdshift for many of us. To be more clear, it’s an unpaid labor of critical generosity. And while we need the critical ethical lenses of those beyond-mainstream media like never before, we need time off…

Wow, I haven't posted on here in a while. The past month has been great, especially because I've been home most of the time. Here's a bunch of stuff that happened: - During my flight back home, there was a Muslim dad and his little girl sitting in front of me. Their relationship was honestly so cute. Like he was telling her all about the planes and stuff and every time he would use a big word, he would ask her what she thought it meant and then he would tell her the actual meaning and tell her to repeat it. I'm so gonna do that with my kids, especially since my vocabulary sucks...I want my children to have a rich vocabulary. The father and daughter also did a number of other cute things and it was just soooo adorable, like I hope my husband is that good with kids as well. - Seeing my family wait for me at the airport, running to them and hugging them is always something I look forward to. As soon as the plane landed, I started smiling and couldn't control it. When I got home, there was a huge stuffed Santa Claus sitting at the top of the stairs with a sign that said "Welcome Home." My family honestly does the cutest things when welcoming me back. I love them to bits and pieces. - The next day, I finally got to drive and get my eyebrows done. Another wonderful feeling. On Monday, my mom, brother, and I went to the States for shopping while my sister was at school and my dad was at work. On our way back, the border lady asked my mom if she had alcohol or tobacco and my mom's like "No thank you" LOOOL and the border lady's like "K I didn't offer you any..." (this lady is such a bitch though) and my mom's like "No thank you,...no" because she's not that good at English. But me and my brother were honestly about to lose it, it was the funniest thing ever. I'm laughing so hard while typing this right now. - On Tuesday, my sister and I went to Metrotown for Christmas shopping. We were successful, but I went broke. - The following Monday, me and Ram wanted to do Zumba, but once we got there, they said it wasn't running over the holidays :( so instead, we went to high street and walked around. Then we saw a guy in GNC looking at us. More on this guy later LOL. - My brother and sister both encouraged me to watch The Prisoners, and I had been putting it off for a while, but then about a week after I got home, I decided to give it a chance. I fell in love with the movie, so damn good. I watched it again with my parents the next day. - On Boxing Day, me and Ram went to WalMart with our fake name tags and pretended like we worked there. Then we walked around and shopped at the mall as well. Some lady at Sears asked my friend for help, and we were like "Sorry, we work at WalMart" HAHAHAH. Then we went to Best Buy to see if Tats was working and he was and I totally avoided him. While going up the escalator there, I totally saw Raj G. and my friend didn't, so afterwards, we were in Sears and we prank called him, and he denied it, but we knew it was him by the way he was talking. After that, we went to the top of high street and just people watched and some random brown uncle saw us up there and gave us dirty looks and then we called out some Rogers employee's name and ducked down and it was just hilarious. At the mall, we were walking and some guy with a GoodLife Fitness bag came around the pole and was right in front of us and we both just stopped and no one moved and we smiled and laughed but he just had a straight face. And then we figured out which way to go and he just still wouldn't smile so it made me laugh more and it was just the most awkward thing ever. Then we went to McDonald's and while we were there, we were talking about the summer and our Karny and Andy memories. So Raman dared me to text Andy a happy boxing day...I did. AND HE REPLIED. HAHAHA. (She also dared me to wish him a Happy New Year, and I did, but since I creeped him out before, he didn't reply to my New Year's one because he knows I'm just messing with him). - A couple of days later, I went shopping with my mom. First we dropped by Sears, and I got new boots and like 3 bras. Then we proceeded to head towards Surrey, I didn't get any suits because my mom's going to India and is gonna be getting them from there, but I got some material to make my suits out of and then I also got to visit my niece who I haven't seen since the summer time. The same day, I got a hair cut, my hair is sooo fresh still, but it's like too even, I want more layers so I might go get them done soon. - The Monday before I came back, my sister and I went prom dress shopping for her. We went to New West, then Metrotown shopping, and then to Oakridge Centre. We tried on the dress she wanted and it was perfect, it was also one of the dresses we saw online. She was so happy that I got to see her in it because she wanted me to be there when she bought one. What a cutie. I'm glad I could help her. - On Wednesday, I finally got to go to the Gurdwara for New Year's. I haven't been to one since I was leaving for Toronto. The prashad was honestly the best. And I got to wear my new cotton suit :) - On Thursday, me and Ramye went to high street again and decided to go into GNC. It was pouring out, and my glasses were covered with raindrops and you couldn't see my eyes apparently. So when we walked in, that same guy came to ask us if we needed any help, and I said no, but Ramye was just laughing and actually asked him so he could stick around longer. And then after he came back to us and was like "are you guys finding everything ok?" and we said yes, but because we looked suspicious, I asked if they had anything to help with sleep. And then he directed us to that section and I saw something that I bought and accidentally said it didn't work. And then he kept trying to suggest other stuff but I was like "Oh I'm not gonna buy today, just doing my research first." He was soooo annoyed and I could tell and I just wanted to leave now, but Ramye insisted that we stay and then I just had to lead the way out. While laughing, of course. Then we went to the old WalMart and asked for Raj G. but the guy we asked said he was new and there was no Raj G. that he knew of. He was a nice guy tho. And then we saw Joji and her boyfriend and we kept avoiding them because I mean I've only talked to her twice and it's not like I know her and I didn't know if I should say hi or not, but Ramye worked with her and she said they weren't close either so we just kept avoiding them, and I think they were avoiding us too. LOL Then we went to Target and we started taking pics and then I took a pic of myself and some old guy was just standing there staring at me and I made eye contact with him and he wouldn't look away so I had to go into the next aisle and laugh. - On Friday, I got my eyebrows and stuff done from my eyebrow lady. I also got a facial done which felt amazeballs. - On Saturday, I woke up and had no motivation to pack. So I just hung out with my family all day until about 6pm and then started packing. We left the house around 8:45 because my flight was a little delayed. While I was waiting at the airport, Ramye was at some friend's birthday dinner and the 3 of the guys we pranked (One of them, Curious George) were also there and she said that they said hi to her but then kept looking at her from across the table. While sitting at the airport, I was making her laugh with funny messages and she was making me laugh, and at one point I actually let out a giggle so I went to the bathroom because it was too awkward sitting there with a bunch of passengers waiting for their flights. At the time, I was thinking "I wonder if seeing my friend made Curious George think of me after all this time." But then I was like, no, he's probably over me now. Because this was on January 4th and we hadn't talked since December 1st (and after that, on December 10, but all I said was happy birthday and he said thank you, there was no conversation so that doesn't really count). - Then I finally got onto the plane, had a connecting flight in Calgary, and after that, I tried to sleep, but couldn't. I arrived in Toronto around 7am and took the airbus back to the apartment. Then I went to get groceries. As soon as I was going to pull out my wallet at the cash register, I realized I didn't even put it in my purse, because it was in my backpack during the flight. So the cashier said she'd save all my stuff and that I could go get my card to pay with. An hour later I came back on the bus and that cashier wasn't working anymore and so I went to customer service and they gave me my bags back, but all the items were put away. So I had to grocery shop all over again, even though i was dead tired. - On Monday, one of my classes was cancelled due to my Prof being stuck in a storm in Chicago, so then I thought, "what's the point of going to my other one, too? It's at 8am and it's just going to be an introductory lecture" so yeah, I finally caught up on my sleep and then watched Breaking Bad all day. I also skipped placement on Tuesday because we were experiencing a "polar vortex" and it was like -40 outside. Wednesdays I have off, on Thursday I only had 1 lecture and then on Friday I head out to Mississauga since there was a lohri party over the weekend which was absolutely great. There was this one guy in suspenders who was really cute, and he was good with kids...always a plus. - I came back to the apartment on Sunday, and then on Monday morning I experienced my first full 4 hours of being in class starting at 8am, and it sucked. This Roman Civilization class is honestly so horrible already. - Then yesterday, (Tuesday) I went to placement and there was a substitute teacher in. One of the girls made me a bracelet and told me to never forget her :') - Then today, I woke up, finished season 2 of Breaking Bad, then got stuff for my brother's birthday ($19 and Tim Horton's gift card) and then bought a work out top and yoga pants from Old Navy because they were on sale. - I came home, relaxed, watched more Breaking Bad, and then wrapped my brother's stuff, wrote the card, and got my sister's wallet and mom's earrings to mail as well. So as soon as I was done that stuff, I was going to shower, and then I realized I should probably take the garbage out first. After I did that, I checked my phone before getting into the shower, and Curious George had texted me. I honestly didn't believe what I was seeing, but it was actually him. He was like "______ ji are you alivee!!!??" and then my heart just started beating super fast. Like what the fuck, it's been like a month and a half since we last talked properly. Took me a few hours to reply, but all I said was "Oh hey there! Yes I'm still alive, don't you worry your little soul." Which I sent about an hour ago and he hasn't replied yet. Oh man, I did not expect this at all. I was doing so good too, like obviously I would think of him sometimes, but definitely not as bad as it was back in first term. I'm still going to be nice and stuff, and I can just feel the feelings coming back, but I'm going to try to be more careful this time and try not to get too attached. I know what it's like when it all just stops, randomly, and that feeling sucks. Let's see where this goes.....
Every. Single. Fucking. Time.
I come home….
My life turns to shit...
