thinking about this now actually. we saw how heavily involved julian was in making worf and Jadzia's would've-been child happen, its been a while since ive seen the relevant episodes but i remember jadzia was warned it may not be possible for her and worf to have a baby that was biologically theirs and she had to go on medication just to try and concieve. and i think julian had to like devise that treatment himself, he would've been involved at every stage if not for (we all know -_-) and established canon says the same is pretty much true of making a klingon/human baby.
so now im wondering who that doctor was for john torres and miral. was it a family physician who'd known one of them for years? was it a friend or colleague like julian was for jadzia and worf ? or was it just a stranger who could help them have the child they wanted so badly? did that person get to see b'elanna once she was born? did they want to? do they ever think about the life they helped create and wonder where she is now? does b'elanna know about them and the role they played in her existence?
