"Me?" His head shot up. He sounded taken aback. "As I recall, you kissed me first—"

She inhaled sharply. "No, mister! You were the one who got near me and don't think I missed that look in your eyes—"

I know Max was harsh to Alice but I still love him and them does anyone else ship them? Sad to see that relationship might be rushed since this is the final season. Also did we hear what Alice's new song sounds like? idk if I missed it and why she named it that

I LOVE Max. Max and Alice really snuck up on me this season but something about them radically altered my brain in a short amount of time.

Max’s delivery…needs work 😂 But honestly the fact that he’s an 18 year old boy and a Goodwin explains a lot? He cares about her so much and wants the best for her. It’s just the fact that his ‘I’m always right’ Goodwin genes and Evelyn-branded cynicism mean he’s lacking a bit of tact. He comments to Alice that she’s influenced him a lot in that regard, and that’s a reason I love them—they both push each other to be better.

WHICH is where/when Alice got her song inspiration—when she saw that conversation between Del and Colton about him ‘pushing them’ when they needed it and ‘seeing the best in each other even when they don’t see it themselves.’

I think that reminded Alice a lot of what Max said to her and does for her. So when it inspired her song, he had to be the first person she sent it to. A way to prove her point that she’s where she’s meant to be this semester, and an acknowledgement and a thank you that he’s been that person for her. We didn’t hear the song yet—I think that will be saved for the finale.

I understand what you mean about ‘feeling rushed’ but it doesn’t really bother me? They’re not a primary couple, and we’ve seen enough to really show us the closeness there. From what I’ve seen, I believe in them and their relationship, even without getting each and every little moment. Personally…I’m hoping for Max being home for winter break and a NYE kiss to wrap them up 👀

#you know how on network shows #there will be an episode where you can just *tell* the writers found out someone on the cast can sing #and then were like “WE GOTTA WRITE THAT IN” at any cost #so you end up with like a holiday party solo or karaoke or... in the golden age of tv... the both feared and revered musical episode #the way home is like a show built entirely around that concept #but in a way that's like music is a part of the storytelling in a really beautiful and natural way #the way home #the way home hallmark #flythepost

This season of the way home really said what if there was a woman who lost everything and then she met a man who saw and loved her for her true self despite all the pretending she does to run from her past and her house of bad memories once again became a home for them to share a beautiful life together BUT THEN HE DIED AND SHE'S ALL ALONE AGAIN!!!!! WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT!!!!!!
