This was the movie I made for the 2011 Mobile Bay Film Scramble. Elements that had to be included were:
1) A character had to see yellow flowers before...
2) Receiving an invitation
3) There had to be an animal
4) And there had to be a shoebox containing something important.
I opted to make a movie about a tough as nails cop who discovers a shoebox in his living room that happens to be a tiny ark of the covenant so he decides to use it to fight crime.
We shot the movie on a Canon EOS 7D. It took a full week to complete. This version actually didn't show at the screening because we had rendering issues and we had to turn in an unfinished version. The only thing this version has that the other one didn't were head explosions and proper color correcting. There are still some quirks and issues with it, but it gets the point across.
Special thanks to Nathaniel Nuon who was the cinematographer and who did all the color correcting, filters, and effects and who, had he been given more time, probably could've made this look pretty serious, but given the time constraints I thought he did a great job and if you think this film is great he deserves a lot of credit.
I also dubbed all the voices myself for maximum comedic value. Enjoy.
