I really like the idea that Thrax had a decent childhood. Sure, they may not have had many friends, and sure, they understood from a young age that a virus is always viewed as the enemy, but... Hey! At least they were loved and cherished :)

Like many viruses, Thrax has a cell parent, in this case a red blood cell father. He changed... A lot since his wedding (which might have not been very official, I have not thought about it much), but he agreed to bear whatever would happen to him if he became a permissive cell

Thinking about how the Matrix works in tfp, with the very heavy implication that it overwrites the host frame’s memories and personality.

I completely understand story wise why it was given to Orion Pax. But it seemed like something that was in the full control of Cybertron’s council to choose the next barer. ‘Cause unless I’m mistaken, none of them are Primes.

So what if Megatronus was accepted to carry the Matrix? He would have essentially ceased to exist, and whatever mods the Matrix does would alter the new Prime into whatever the council desires “keep the peace.”

In a way, it would also chop off the head of the rebelling bots. And not only that, the Council could use their new Prime against them— to divide them. Parading around the frame in a macabre display of control.

The new Prime would speak the Council’s words for them. “Our code was written in the very Core of the Allspark. Primus showed me clearly, to forcefully change our modes is to bring untold chaos. My forge-kin, I will work with the Council to herald a new age for Cybertron. But first you must lay down your arms and return “to your function.”

It’s a complete 180 from what Megatronus used to say. And for the bots who were closest to him, it’s like a totally different bot using his voice.

The Decepticons are still a fledgling of a concept, but it doesn’t matter because they are angry. They are betrayed. So chaos they sow. And it gives the Council all the excuse they need to sic the new Prime on the miscreants.

Orion Pax does of course encounter the new Prime; in private settings, at gatherings, on the field. He tries to appeal to Megatronus, his friend the gladiator, the headstrong leader, the poet. But the new Prime is indifferent, because none of that means anything to him. Though it doesn’t stop him from using Megatronus’ friendship with Pax to get him on the side of “reason.” To protect their fragile society.

I do think Pax will try to work with the Prime, at first. Surely he meant it when he said he would bring on a new and better era for all bots.

But as time goes on, Pax will become disillusioned to the Council, to Alpha Trion, to the Matrix that puppets his dear friend’s frame.

Pax will join Soundwave, and the Great War will start anew.
