Another reason visual novels and dating sims kick ass is because the NPCs will always use the correct pronouns for you (whatever you picked at the beginning) and even the biggest douche canoes in the entire game will gender you properly. Like, yeah, this dude’s an evil billionaire who bought your dead boss’s business and fired you and all your friends, but he’s not transphobic (unlike evil billionaires in real life).
