thinking of the band pre-harmony.

likely a stretch but from my own analysis, their fanbase would probably be more akin to early 2000s fanbases. i know theyre in. 2077+ but based on the general band culture they seem to have, as well as somehow still existing afterparty culture (which has now, in the real world, heavily died down!!!) i truly do think theyd have one of those weird kind of fanbases that are either; extremely parasocial on one hand, or pick apart everything they do on the other.

i wonder how theyd deal with this kinda fame. rori and charlie are probably in hell LOL being that rori was created by harmony specifically to appeal & charlie is just. conventionally attractive. back then it was pretty normalized to just straight up harass musicians. (⁠╯⁠︵⁠╰⁠,⁠) (added factor that rori is a woman.. scarie)

it was also very normalized to treat the musicians u dont like like absolute shit!! it was very accepted to just be an asshole if the musicians skills didnt seem 'up to par' with standards (even if they were playing good!) or if they were generally just kinda mean. dex would probably be a big victim to this as well as ableism for his disability. hhhmmmff.

have you guys thought abt how dex likely didnt want guitar to be his career? with likely overbearing parents its like when youre a gifted kid & ure good at something once so ure expected to continuously do that good and constantly be on that even when u start to lose interest or skill / burn out.

im sure thats why his sin is greed. he was taught to be this way and (based off another ama reply) was seemingly forced to drop his other hobbies for this as well. guitar is all hes ever been good at and all that matters about him to the people in his life. plus growing up with a disability already definitely made things rough for him!!! — he desires perfection in his one skill because if hes not perfect in that then what is he as a person? hes been running on the fact that this is all he has, theres nothing to fall back on if he isnt the best because he wasnt. taught to actually be himself!! and to have interests!! and to just not absorb himself in this!!

had this like,. benny denialmaxxer phenomenon theory thing where he spends all of his time post charlie death trying to convince himself that charlie didnt actually die. its. stated he likely saw the body himself and seeing that really fucks u up as a person!! and out of all the ways he could cope i think he goes off the radar entirely and stays secluded he doesnt check the media he doesnt want to see the people asking about the band or theorizing because that means coming to terms with the fact something really did happen and charlie really is dead.

i mean its pretty implied the medias didnt know about charlies death since prophet had all their storys set straight whicg means they probably had some lie to tell. but i think even just seeing people question it would probably kill him a bit.

hemlock x dex thoughts. props to that one hex guy on here that keeps making me think of them...

i find their dynamic really interesting. hemlock on one hand is absolutely imperfect but he shows no care for that, its part of who he is and he doesnt bother with it! he cant write songs but hes in a band, he has all these issues and addictions, he goes to therapy!!

on the otherhand dex is also imperfect but he hates himself for it. he strives to be better even when it is hurting him, he cant stand anything about himself that isnt textbook perfection and wont stop until he gets that no matter what it takes

i believe they can balance eachother out (more so hem balancing dex LOL) but also dex would absolutely be disgusted over (and slightly envy) how hemlock is able to actually be happy with who he is despite how absolutely flawed he is. and hemlock would hate seeing how dex can never be happy no matter what he does and how badly he tears himself apart for something impossible to attain!!!!
