My recent works
Been working on my friends story!
So I'm doodling at lunch and lately I been thinking about what it means to be black. This is a question that I have thought about a lot in my life. I grew up in suburbia and people would say I'm white washed. Most people feel that I can't sympathize with "real" black people. The conflict is strange when you sit in the middle of 2 warring sides. I wonder if all this hatred in the black community has been stirred by oppressors. Is everything going on right now an excuse to kill us. I love my people I truly think even if the whole world looks down on us it's because secretly they wanna be us. We are cool, strong, smart, streetwise, fashionable, creative, and fearless. I love black but I feel like something out there wants me to hate who I am. I can't lie I have said many times I hate black, but it's normally a result of mistreatment. Even thought you talk proper and dress professional to others you are just a monkey in a suit. You take that to the hood and you are a target, you aren't black enough despite the skin you wear. All this hatred keeps us all down in more ways than one. Maybe they are just afraid because they know we have the power to change everything...
The Big Move
So I haven't been posting in awhile which upsets me. A friend, wifey and I have been trying to find a place to live. This has been extremely stressful because we have a deadline to move. So far not much is coming our way 😕. We are hoping to hear back from some of the places we visited. At work I been hella stressed out too. All the things that I'm talented in are left on the cutting room floor. I don't feel like I'm growing there, but they are constantly giving me more projects. I really wanna find a place and create some tranquility in my life again. Right now it feels like everything is out of whack. I'm trying to not get depressed about everything but I'm noticing I would rather stay home and drink alone then go out to see my friends. It's funny how the balance of life is so fragile. I think things suck so bad now because I don't really have a refuge from stress. I need a place to escape, to recharge. Either way these things always work out somehow I guess. I just wanted to update everyone one why I haven't been drawing as much.
