More bread!! For those who are wondering, this is the recipe I use!
• 1 ½ tablespoons instant dry yeast
• 2 cups warm water (MAKE SURE IT'S WARM!!!)
• 5 cups all purpose flour
Essentially, I dump everything but the egg into a bowl and kneed that until I get a sticky ball of dough (Sticky enough to catch on your fingers, but not so much that it separates from the dough ball.)
Dump into a greased bowl (Veggie Oil is what I prefer. To save on dishes, I try to use the same bowl I made the dough in after giving it a quick wash.) and let rise covered for 1 hour.
It will double in size! Peel the sticky boi onto a floured surface and cut in half. flatten out your half dough ball into a rectangle until it's about the same length as your rolling pin, and then roll it up tight! (repeat with the other dough ball)
Place onto your baking holder (I recommend something perforated on the bottom! It leaves less chances for soggy bottoms. I'm using a pizza pan!) and let rise covered again for about 35 minutes or until big and fluffy.
Come back and preheat your oven to 350. While waiting for it to heat up, slice diagonal lines into the bread about 1 inch apart (use a very sharp knife to avoid tearing the dough) and then beat 1 egg, and brush it onto the tops.
Bake for 35-40 minutes. Done! Now, most people will tell you to let the bread cool completely before eating it.
This is blasphemy. Let it cool for 10 minutes and scarf it down in 5 minutes. Maybe burn your tongue once or twice. Live life.
