woah where the motherfuck is everyone at
it's like wicked quiet over here
Hey, yo, I got some left. Anyone want one?
[sets up a few more glass tanks so that everyone can have their own critter, plus a larger tank for Mery]
.. There..
[collapses on his bed, exhausted from carrying the heavy tanks]
[sighs gently]
I guess I'll have to go get more tanks, since everyone seems intent on getting their own critter..
[sets up few small glass tanks in the cabin]
Alright. We're gonna do something that hopefully some of you will find interesting.
There are three tanks, one for each set of bunks. I hope you haven't declared war with your bunkmate because, well, you'll be working with them for this.
I want you to go out in pairs and find something to put in the tank. A tiny animal, a bug, some fish, whatever you want.. as long as you don't get hurt trying to catch whatever it is. And then I want you to take care of it. Keep it alive and happy for the rest of camp. If you catch something that requires a heat lamp, I do have a couple of them in my car.
I'll try to answer any questions you have about what you've caught, or are trying to catch.
[With the combination of regret and anger that he'd experienced in just the last few days, Markus deemed himself unfit to return to the cabin tonight; he was sure the campers were more than capable of fending for themselves, and simply didn't want to rile up Al further -- the kid had gotten to him pretty badly with his constant remarks and insults, and he'd acted out of anger in response, causing the teen to be bit by his own snake... There's also the matter of James -- while their little encounter had been relatively consensual, it didn't much change the fact that it was wrong, and he had known that from the start..
So tonight he rested in a patch of soft grass close to the lake, staring for a good ten minutes at a beetle that had decided to explore between his fingers before falling into a light sleep, his mind incapable of being at ease.
He was a bad counselor, and a bad person in general -- and he hated himself for it.]
[sighs and goes to sit out by the lake by himself]
