I'm obsessed with my new bracelet. I was asked by the people behind 100 Good Deeds to help spread the word about what they do. 100 Good Deeds is a non-profit that provides jobs for at-risk, often HIV+ women in countries around the world by enlisting them to hand make these bracelets. Each of the bracelets is made of 100 glass beads and a small rubber ring. The concept is simple, but powerful: move the ring over one bead at a time for every good deed or act of kindness you do, as long as you remain anonymous.

I was impressed by their dual-part mission and, quite honestly, haven't taken the bracelet off since receiving it in the mail last week. Next step, moving this ring from one end of the bracelet to the next, one bead and one deed at a time. Get yours here.

Will you resolve to complete a #DeedADay for 2015?

The 1GD bracelet is hand-braided from a fine nylon thread using a lucet tool. One hundred glass beads and one rubber ring are strung onto the braided cord. You wrap your 1GD bracelet around your wrist three times. Every time you complete your anonymous good deed, you move the rubber ring one bead closer to the 1GD button.

The 100 Good Deeds bracelet is meant to inspire you to do good deeds while also empowering the women who make the bracelet and supporting their families through earnings. Many of the vulnerable women who have been trained to make the bracelets are HIV+ and are from Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Rwanda, Haiti, Bali, India and the US.
