We love the idea behind the original Hollis Explorer eSCR. It was intended as a hybrid recreational rebreather which could straddle the divide between recreational simplicity and (almost) bubble free diving. It was a shame the product was abandoned before it could be made to work effectively. In 2018 we upgraded two of our Explorer units to full mechanical CCR's with the help of the guys at KISS Rebreathers (https://www.kissrebreathers.com) as we installed their conversion kit. Following training with Doug Ebersole in Carriacou, we've never looked back! Still with the limitations of a recreational rebreather, our Explorers are back in the environment they were intended to be in - the water.
