Back on track! #Deegatalk
Two Months ago I’ve written and published my Last Talk
Many of you thought the Deegatalk will stop forever, although I mentioned a couple of times that the talks will only stop in Print, but will continue Online.
I’ve had 3 episodes of my online show launched on Youtube, in Arabic, and I’ve made my first appearence to the public with the same look, feel &tone of voice of my talks.
Although they are in Arabic, and do not address relationships, they address bolder topics that already exist within our society.
Some were surprized at my daring words while others supported me. In both cases, you always know Deega can’t keep her mouth shut. (Yess, I’m talking about myself in third person)
Ook..so moving on.
Many of you insisted that I shouldn’t stop writing. Especially to you my Silvia. And you were right. I can’t stop writing those talks no matter what…and here is my promise I’m holding on to in front of everyone. “Law el sama etarba2t 3al ard…and no matter what people think about what I write, I’ll keep on writing” Thats the only thing I’m holding onto.
I’ll be writing more and more talks…and off course not commiting myself to 500 words as I used to. I’ve had many Ideas so far to write about, and after paying close attention to what’s on our minds, I’ve discovered that what’s going on in our minds is much more than seeking Love, attention, acceptance and change. We have so much going around that I havent yet addressed. The upcoming talks will be based on personal experience and thoughts, your personal experience and thoughts. Are you ready?! So…where shall I start?
It’s Complicated!
“He loves me too much” She said
Another love story begins. He’s madly in love with her. He believes he finally found the one. She’s his love of his life. She loves him back. He wants to continue his life with her, she does too, but she has “issues”.
Recently, I’ve received many stories on guys whom are serious about their relationships, about the girl they want to be with, while she is hiding behind her “issues”. She is insecure, unconfident, has family problems or is uncertain about the guy she wants to be with and wants to seek her options.
“I want you, but I have too much issues in my life that I can’t burden myself with any commitments” Is usually the excuse you would listen to.
He starts to get crazy. She’s there. She’s single not taken. She loves him back. She wants him, but is too scared to get into any form of relationship.
She keeps on building walls, and walls around herself. She’s been dumped, broken hearted and played with. Sometimes she wants to be free souled, not belonging to anyone, while other times, she examining people in front of her to see who’s strong enough to break her walls.
She’s putting her insecurities on top of everything. She puts it as a barrier not to get involved in any form of heartbreaking relationship, Even if it isn’t. She’s too broken to believe in the person in front of her. Her previous experiences made her not believe in people, especially from the ones she loves the most.
It’s complicated!
It’s like they are there for one another, they want for one another, but there is that virtual wall between them that keeps them distant, while they aren’t, in reality they are closer than ever. She’s just waiting for him to break and torn that wall down. While he’s reconsidering everything that’s been happening “Does she really love me? Is she trying to push me away? Am I placed on her shelf along with other guys? May be I love her too much? May be she needs distance? May be she doesn’t really want this? Or may be she’s playing daddy’s sweetheart to see how much I’m willing to offer her?”
It’s complicated!
It’s not fully clear whether we want one another or not. Or what exactly are we waiting for to make this happen. Sometimes insecurities keep us blind of what’s ahead of us, and sometime its safer to hide rather than face any issue we have, even the simplest act of allowing our heart to love someone.
Now here’s the thing for you:
If you really love her, show It
If you really care for her, prove it
If you love her flaws and insecurities, contain her
If you love her for who she is, be there for her
If you really want her, Take your time, and don’t rush things up.
If you really care for her, make time for her
Protect her, and make the warmth she never had hiding beneath her insecurities.
And please…nothing’s complicated if we really want this to happen.
“Nothing is perfect. Life is messy. Relationships are complex. Outcomes are uncertain. People are irrational” Hugh Mackay
What’s your story about “Complicated?”

PHYSICAL LOVE
Happy New Year my dearest readers. How was 2013 to you? Did you achieve anything you’ve wrote on your New years resolution? Well, did you plan next years resolution? Or wait wait, how did you celebrate new years eve? If you’re a singlette, then most probably you spent it with some single friends having a fancy dinner somewhere or just… forever alone. However if you’re a party person, or someone who wants to have fun then you must have partied somewhere cool to get spotted by Cairo zoom and made it your profile picture the next day with the Cairo Zoom logo, and… after partied with your partner. The saying says “Di leila el wa7ed beyensa feeha nafso”… yes please go as far as you want with your thoughts.
I was talking to a friend sometime ago and she went like “Oh my god Deega you never had your first kiss before?” Emm.. No “Well you could tell me, I’m your friend, and I’ll consider this a secret between us…you never ever kissed him?” Emm…No “Deega you must be kidding me and you haven’t even made out?” Made out?! As in physically make out?! Why would I? “Deega you’re so abnormal!” Abnormal? Just because I’ve never had any “Physicality” with my so called lover or boyfriend I become ABNORMAL?! Excuse me?! Where are we living again?
Suddenly I’m the one who became abnormal. Suddenly I discover every couple I met in my life had some sort of physicality in their relationship, whether they talk about it or not it happened! It could be in any form: A kiss (Frenshaya I mean), physical contact and an incomplete sexual intercourse. By that I mean the female is still “a girl”. Dudes.. I’m not here to shock you, I’m just highlighting what’s happening in the real world out there. What’s wrong with me today?
Apparently I’m the weird one in here. Apparently it’s the norm, and apparently I’m just not living my life in full and haven’t fell in love. Today’s sign of any couple loving each other is simply how deep is their relationship. The more physical, the more intense the love becomes. What? So the intensity of love isn’t by feelings anymore? What feelings? Yeah right what feelings?
I’ve discovered, it’s not about it being right or wrong or whether it should or shouldn’t happen. Physicality is a desire in each and everyone of us, however how you act upon with your desire is the real issue. If we’re trying to fit in and compare ourselves to foreign societies, believing that we’re cool, then its time snap out of your bubble. Unfortunately as open minded as males and females might seem, when it comes to reality, strong orientalist and conservative beliefs come up, especially when it comes to physical intercourses pre-marriage. What marriage? Well we haven’t thought about marriage yet, plus we’re not ready for any form of commitment right now? Commitment?!
So i’ll try to make sense of this. Now physical love is the sign of actual love? If you don’t do your simply a weirdo? And you do this because you simply want to have fun without committing to one another? And its seen as 3aady? What 3ady? And now you’re simply enjoying sleeping around with every single person your heart beats for?
Remind me again how many times were you dumped by your partner?
