Tom the Grocer
Tom was a manager at the Stores’R’Us, and he really loved ice cream. One day, he decided that no one would notice if he just took a couple of cartons every now and then. As time went on, he became more confident, and took more and more ice cream cartons. It got to the point that he needed two freezers to adequately accommodate his favorite treat.
Eventually, the store began to notice that they were missing literally hundreds of containers of ice cream, and they began to investigate it. They brought Tom in, to ask him if he’d seen anything. Tom had gained a significant amount of weight from his 3 meals of ice cream a day that he had been eating since he started stealing ice cream, so he was worried that he was a suspect. But when they asked Tom questions, they weren’t at all suspicious.
But Tom was nervous. He was convinced he was days from being discovered for his saccharine wrongdoing. So he went home, and put all of the containers of ice cream, empty and full, into his car and went across town to dispose of them. He dug a big hole for the ice cream and began putting it into the hole.
Tom was not a very smart man, and did this in broad daylight. Naturally, his boss drove by and saw him burying the evidence. Tom was called into work the next day, fired, and fined for his perverse actions.
