Rest easy Jane Goodall.
Personal ramble here. I'm currently studying science at Uni and when I look back on my life so far it was obvious I would. I adore our world and the underlying systems that make it tick. From my earliest memories to my most recent, my life is filled with wonder and appreciation for our natural world. I am heartbroken to have lost one of my biggest inspirations within my field of study. Her words and works were always so impactful and showed the deep passion she had for our nature. She changed not only the scientific community but closer to home, she changed me. I won't pretend like she was why I chose my degree but when I look back on my childhood and I see myself reading her books and admiring her strength and commitment, I see a fire being lit in my heart that took my existing passion and said ' I see you, you are welcome to contribute, you can change it if you try' and I've been trying ever since.
So thank you Jane Goodall, I hope you got everything you wanted out of this world because you certainly gave it more than enough. You are an inspiration and a woman who showed the strength of her character in every one of her actions. You will be missed but your legacy will live on.
