20 Albums That Changed My Life #DeepPurple #DeepestPurple #EMI #ParlaphoneRecords #1980 #IanGillan #RitchieBlackmore #JonLord #RogerGlover #IanPaice #DavidCoverdale #GlennHughes #TommyBolin This album means the world to me. I was first given this by my Uncle Gary when we were at Hastings in Amarillo in, around, 1991. As a gift from the second-coolest man on the planet (behind my father) it’s invaluable and irreplaceable. It’s scratched well past the point of playing (I think a few tracks in the middle of the disc might still play,) but I would never DREAM of tossing it. It opened me up to the world of British blues rock, British proto-metal, and #ChildInTime, a song written as a Vietnam protest, but it means so much more to me. It’s my childhood, it’s my dearly departed Uncle Gary, it’s my cousins (his sons,) it’s the movie Twister (Child In Time is played during a very cool scene,) it’s everything in one song. This album, more than most on this list, changed my life. (at Fort Worth, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnLRd00l1ZC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1d4sq9588ul1
