deer sam & dog/wolf dean (yes he’s both a herding dog and a wolf when it comes to sam especially in the context of wincest. i love this duality of him)
this had me at a chokehold since i read it
dean's a herding dog and a wolf and when he's what depends entirely on sam. usually he's a dog nudging deer sam with his snout and making sure he leads their way far away from predators. he'd hide sammy and fend off multiple predators all alone and puff his chest at the war wounds
(also side note sam is the most gorgeous buck with majestic antlers)
so bucks tend to get aggressive around their rut when their testosterone starts to rise, right? It's this time when dean fully allows himself to be the wolf, cause he needs to keep sam in control and safe, right? there's no other reason..
but he needs to keep this from happening over and over. remember, dean is still a dog/wolf, he doesn't understand deer anatomy at all. what it feels like to be one.
all he knows is that sam's antlers are the biggest and strongest at the time of his rut (when he's aggressive) and after that's done, the antlers fall off.
so obviously the issue is the antler right? so wolf dean does what any good brother would and breaks them off at the base with his jaws and sam's howling and whining and thrashing to get away but he doesn't understand sammy im doing this to help you, would you stop squirming?
so yeah bucks need their antlers to defend themselves, but im here, so why does he need to defend himself?
and yeah they need it to establish dominance, but sammy doesn't need to do that with me, we're always equal, him and I.
but mostly they need them to signal to other doe that they're male and dean's thinking that he really did do the right thing after all.
