Hello!!!  So this is a belated Christmas gift for my wonderful friend and artist, @deerheadlights It’s of her original characters, Oenone and Toothy, from her comic, “The Blinding One” Go on her tumblr and look through her “The Blinding One” tags to find out more! She has a lot of world building done and some comic pages up! I wanted to paint an interaction I can imagine happening between her two characters. Oenone would seem the one to reluctantly accept Toothy’s unwanted presents because she knows he means well XD I know I would. Toothy has got to be like the best pet dinosaur ever ;3;

Is there a word for Bad King or Tyrant? Also do you know any names, royal or otherwise that have the god Nanna as an element in them? Thanks, I love your blog!

There are a couple of words for a particularly bad ruler. The one I know of most is lugula, “despot, dictator”. Another is luiutuka, “oppressor”, literally “person complained (about)”. You can also use lugal, “king”, and add any of a host of bad adjectives to it; how about lugalazi “violent king” or lugalkaanshasha “overpowering king”?

As for Nanna, the only vocab word I know in Sumerian that uses her name is nanna itself, meaning “moon”. If you mean personal names containing Nanna, I actually don’t know of a clear, comprehensive source for Sumerian personal names. (If someone has one, let me know!)

We hope you'll like Joolita's version of Koekoek. We wanted to include the adorable mammoth, but Joolita refused to draw a realistic looking one because she is apprehensive about her wildlife drawing skills.
