NO FUCKING DEFEATISM
The self glorification liberals undertake is so interesting. Like, you'll tell them that you don't vote bcz parlamentarianism is an obsolete tool for our class, and they'll genuinely treat that like you just killed a baby. "Don't you know what a privilege it is to be able to vote, not everyone can, you are at fault for Trump!!" For one, it is a privilege afforded to us by the dictatorship of the bourgeois, a privilege insofar that its not only at all times redactable if they so wish, but also that it literally doesn't do shit. You wouldn't call giving your toddler a toy so they don't throw a tantrum a great privilege, yet you do when it's done to your entire class? And further, how do you actually disagree with Trump, aside from form?? He's a genocider, so were Obama, Hillary, Biden and Harris, why choose which head represent this barbarism and thereby support the glorification of this illusion of the rule of the people? He's a warmonger, but the targets he chooses aren't exactly unique to him or the GOP, JFK ordered Cuba to be invaded to reimpose the bourgeois american-backed dictatorship, basically every president prepared the country of the USA for this war upon Iran, and for years Venezuela and Maduro were eyed as targets by both parties. Why is that, bcz the USA too have a single party system, giving the illusion of people's rule as in all other liberal democracies, while all established parties (and most of those which aren't established), serve only the bourgeois in reality. And what do liberals do about this? They don't read theoretical work, they don't support the defeat of their own government in imperialist war, they don't even use adventurist violence. They make protest shields and dance in inflatable frog costumes, and expect you to take them serious for that.
Just a word salad I typed out over my frustrations about the class traitors in america, so I'm open to response.

Victim of circumstance, wish I knew it sooner. Delt a bad hand, bummer. Still the chips roll on, and I sit with bad cards praying to lady luck for a full house. Probably not getting it, but too deep in to quit now.

Blanket cynicism, which I see all the time and just saw a moment ago is the way people surrender who don't know they're surrendering. When they say stuff like : it was always this bad, that one is as bad as the one you're talking about, everyone is equally corrupt, etc. they're acquiescing to harm and destruction. "People have always drowned" is not the useful thing to say while watching someone drown. "Murder is nothing new" is bystander behavior when witnessing a murder.
In order to care, to expose the damage or corruption, in order to understand why this particular one matters you have to make distinctions. Yes this entity was never pure and saintly but the current corruption is harming these people, damaging this system, undermining this protection. Yes, this institution was never perfect, but the current sabotage will have a hideous destructive impact. Yes bad things have always happened, but there is a possibility to intervene in this bad thing, and that intervention matters.
It's a form of dismissiveness, of not caring, of not making distinctions that leads to passivity, acceptance, an inability to act, because the first step in acting is caring and making the distinction: this imperfect media institution/government bureau has now done something seriously worse, and it should be exposed, checked, not tolerated. Like so much cynicism, defeatism, doomerism, it postures in order to reinforce the self rather than participate in the world.
It's a form of pretending to be against things that accommodates them.
'We're so cooked' 'Its so over' 'Oh we're fucked now' I mean, with an attitude like that, certainly.
I keep seeing this and I can't tell how much of it is a lighthearted attempt to cope and how much is genuine defeatism but, I'm here to say it loud and clear- chat, we are not cooked yet.
Nothing is over. This is just the beginning, and if you have already decided that there is no hope then there won't be any. They want you to believe that there's nothing we can do about the climate, about healthcare or housing. And that's a lie. I need you to know that's a lie. There is always hope, there is always work that can be done. Do not lay down and accept this, even as a joke.
Things are terrifying right now, but we shall not give into despair! Like this archeops, we shall overcome the inclination towards defeatism and keep hope alive! Keep fighting until the last HP is lost.
