“Crap! You weren’t supposed to be home until later!” Gionna had a feeling she was going to get caught on that ladder she was currently standing on, but hey, at least it was a small one? And she wasn’t even that high off the ground. Being home all the time was driving her bananas, and she was tired of the baby’s room being a mess, so she figured she’d just hang up a few decorations, fully expecting to have it done before Max got home from the airport that day. “Don’t be mad, babe. Suppose that's what Max gets for trying to show a sliver of concern towards N.attie. He'd been irritating her from the very start of their... friendship... if that's what you'd call it. Even though the blonde's actions were completely warranted, Max still was a little offended at her dismissal of his showing of concern. "Fine, suit yourself." Max grabbed his water bottle and turned in the seat, going to stand up to leave the catering area. "You look like shit by the way," Typical Max fashion, always itching to get the last word in no matter the occasion.

The funny thing was he wasn’t even the reason as to why she was currently feeling this way, for once! So he should calm the hell down. If Nattie wasn’t upset she’d laugh at how he acted but in the long run you couldn’t say he didn’t deserve for the shoe to be on the other foot this time around. “Thanks, so do you. Don’t ever change, eh?” A roll of her eyes, she released the deepest of exhales as a an attempt to curb her “attitude.” “Shouldn’t you be happy I’m not mad at anything related to you, unlike the hundred millionth time since we met? I just need some air, didn’t think I had to outright say it after hearing you ask me am I okay over and over.” Naturally caring was in her nature, she’s been in his position many times so she gets it. Was Max expressing concern alarmingly strange but in a positive way? Hell yeah!

cody and max had been through a lot of ups and downs together through their career, and despite the bad ones, cody still couldn’t help but to keep him in his life . he was the first ever person that he mentored, and a good one at that . watching max excel in the business was a dream . he deserved it. through all of the good stuff they crumbled apart time and time again, even to the point that it seemed like each week was a step up from the last on how they could hurt one another .

somehow, they progressed over it . cody was willing to forgive and forget the past due to his soft spot for his former friend . there was no lie that tensions were still high though, cody felt like he was talking to a damn brick wall at times . and now, here stood the two men in a lockerroom while cody was trying to talk things out . i don’t need you . cody’s words were cut right from his mouth as max spoke .

it might’ve been a little selfish or whatever . cody just wished that max could move on like he did . so they could go back to how things were “ i didn’t say you couldn’t take care of yourself ” he snapped right back, already used to their arguments, half of it didn’t phase cody “ god forbid someone wishes you some praises, max . i’m here to support you. why are you pushing me away? ”

It was always just too easy to get a rise out of the doctor. One simple comment was always enough to worm her way under her skin, she relished in the feeling. “ Oh baby girl, you know you’re my favourite. ” The pet name delivered with a smile, a feigned concern that they both knew held some form of ulterior motive. “I’m just lookin’ out for you, Doc. Come ‘ere.” She waits not for Britt to follow her instruction, no. Her thumb swipes at the bottom of her chin, flicking off some of the remaining dried blood. “ See? I can play nice. ”

Maybe if I just hurry up and throw it in the trash, he won’t see it. All I have to do is make it downstairs and just throw it away, and we won’t have to deal with this until I’m ready. Those were the words Gionna said to herself as she tried to as quietly as she could, exit the bathroom in Maxwell’s apartment, because the last thing she wanted was for him to see the positive pregnancy test she was trying to hide in her hand. It wasn’t like she was going to hide the news from him forever, seeing as how that was impossible, but she was just scared to tell him the news just yet, because the two of them hadn’t even been together that long. It’s fine. It’s. Fine. I can just hold out a little bit longer as long as I make it downstairs…but of course Gionna’s concentration was immediately interrupted….when she ran right into Max as soon as she exited the bathroom, knocking the test out of her hand, and the stupid thing made sure it made a loud thump as soon as it hit the floor. Gionna was speechless at first, as she stared down at the little blue and white piece of plastic, because what could she even say in that moment? “Max I…..I can explain!”
