They had never done this before, no. But they had seen their superiors do it a few times. To high class soldiers or other upperclass gems that happened to visit their work place. 

Not all of them, really. It was an old practice that only old world gems seemed to still cling to for one reason or another.

They didn’t know exactly what had compelled them to do it. Next thing they new, their lips touched upon the warm skin. It was an… odd sensation. To have their lips touch another gem’s body like this. Odd, but not at all unpleasant, unlike how they had expected it to be. Their mind wondered about how the rest of her body would feel against their lips.

And suddenly a crazy idea crossed their mind.

How would her lips feel against theirs?

Would they be soft? Warm? Or maybe chapped and rough?

The gem hadn’t even noticed they had moved closer until they were only a few inches appart. They could smell Amethyst’s breath (Some human “food” and… was that some of the librificant they used for their primitive machines?), they could see how her eyes were atually a dark blue (purple?) color instead of black as they had previously assumed.

After another beat, the technician seemed to finally notice how innappropriate their situation was and all but jerked away from the other gem, mentally scolding themselves.
