for the ship tropes...either defending each other (but only when the other person isnt around) OR wearing each others clothes...
From this list of prompts
I picked defending each other to do first but will probably also do the clothes one because I’m insane.

Matt was in 3rd period illusions when it happened. He was minding his own business, taking notes for that day’s lesson. Except, well, he wasn’t really paying attention to the lesson; instead, he kept glancing over to Augustus’ empty seat at the front of the classroom. It was unusual for the younger witch to be absent. Augustus would never miss class, even if he already had mastered all of the material that they were learning. He even sent illusions to take notes for him when he was sick.
He would never admit it, but Matt was worried about his friend and he was having a hard time focusing on anything else. He tapped his heel impatiently, hardly able to restrain himself from jumping up and running out of the classroom to find one of Gus’ friends and find out what was going on. That’s when he heard a snicker and hushed whispering next to him. His ears perked up and he leaned in to hear better.
“…can’t believe that nerd is missing class. Who am I supposed to copy notes off of now?”
“He probably forgot his blankie at home or something.”
“Yeah, little twerp probably went home to cry to daddy about it.”
“This just in, Disgustus Porter needs his diaper changed.”
The two witches broke into a fit of laughter, earning a warning glance from the teacher.
Matt had been still up until this point, listening quietly as the two boys next to him continued to make jokes about his best friend. His fists were clenched and his face was red as anger bubbled up inside him, ready to explode. And then it boiled over and in one deft motion he was standing in front of the other witches, both of their cowls in one of his hands and the other raised up and covered in stone, ready to swing. Luckily, the teacher was facing away and didn’t notice as he began to speak in a hushed voice.
“I don’t know what your problem is but I’m the only one who gets to talk about Porter like that, got it?? I may be a master illusionist now but I can still do construction magic and you both better keep your mouths shut unless you want to find your faces reconstructed. Is that clear?”
The two witches nodded, sweat dripping down their foreheads.
“Mr. Tholomule, is there a problem?” The teacher asked from behind him. He swiveled around, smiling coyly.
“No ma’am.”
Matt had just returned to his seat when the door swung open and Gus entered the room carrying a stack of papers that he handed over to the teacher.
“Here are the quizzes, all graded like you asked!” he announced proudly, blissfully unaware of what had just transpired before he got there. He caught Matt’s eye across the room and waved. The constructionist waved back and then quickly looked away, pulling his hood up to hide his reddening face.
Gus returned to his seat in front of the two witches who had been talking about him just minutes before. As he went to open his bag, it fell over and the contents spilled out. The two boys behind him immediately scrambled to pick up the contents and hand them to him.
“Here you go, Augustus!”
“Let me get that for you.”
“Oh, your pencil is broken. Here, you can use mine.”
“Do you want to copy my notes?”
Gus, who had rarely received more than a “hello” from his fellow classmates, was more than a little confused by all of the attention he was suddenly getting. Even stranger, the two witches seemed to keep looking back at Matt who was watching them with a satisfied smirk.
