well cabra is spanish for goat, chupa-cabra is goat sucker,spanish (or my dialect anyway) names of animals placesorthings that arent really specified get the male "el" but i get what you mean but not all words follow the "o-oswaldo" or "a-anita" rule

Most words when they end with /a/ are, in fact, feminine. But not in this case because I think el chupacabra is a male?? Not ALL Spanish words that end with /a/ are going to be feminine.
