21. A boss that was disappointing

Corypheus in DAI. Holy shit that was the most anticlimactic boss/end fight ever. Absolutely ridiculous.

I maintain that the way they framed the attack on Adamant should have been what happens to Skyhold at the end.

For trauma ask about the Gort - all of his fuckery related to hurting children is a direct manifestation of his unresolved trauma from his parents selling him and his time in the HoH. The experiment where he tortures children with their parents in the next room, to see if the parents will kill themselves to save the kids? It's like he's trying to prove that see, my parents weren't outliers, this happens to everyone, everyone is selfish and will save themselves even at the expense of a child. When that backfires and all the parents kill themselves, it's about brainwashing the surviving children to see who he can convince that nobody came to save them. And then the infamous exploding teddy bears, I'm sure he wanted to swan in at the 11th hour and pretend to put a stop to it all and be proclaimed as a saviour to the children, almost like he would've had fantasies about someone storming in and saving him. My boy never got over being so completely fucked over by his parents that even as an adult he's running fucking science experiments to convince himself that what happened to him was okay and normal

UGH I KNOW AND IT HURTS ME SO BAD THINKING ABOUT THIS like this man needs at least a decade of therapy to unravel all the trauma he still holds from his childhood!! The way he views parent-child relationships is genuinely so fascinating and obviously twisted beyond recognition because he never got to experience how it SHOULD be, so he's trying his damnest to convince himself and the world that treating your child like garbage is the NORM. That way he's not the outlier, what happened to him was fair and expected and he was not dealt the shittiest hand in history from the moment he was born. It's so tragic!!
