I managed to do a page, but I kinda rushed it as I had a bad pain episode on Friday so I had to do all the digital lineart, coloring, and lettering in like… 3 or 4 hours. 

Anyway, Undyne asks Alphys if she wants to be a mom. Mobile Sprout Flowey and his cohort flee in response. 

Gotta say, after drawing nothing but Rito in my spare time for so long, anatomy has gotten way harder. I haven’t shared any of that art, but the way Rito wing-arms work has made it hard to go back to normal arms. This is what I meant in the last page’s description when I said “will she get distracted by birds.”

Spent a fair amount of time making Toriel’s house in Defnodel in the sims tonight. Included images with and without commentary. Not every room is pictured because I didn’t think it was important to show the bathrooms, but you can kinda see the floorplan in these grainy images from my personal gallery.

It’s not uploaded to the gallery, however. I used a ton of packs and 3 kits anyway, so idk how many people could download it. Will likely be making Sims 4 houses for at least all major Hometown characters’ houses eventually. Just because it’s nice to have something to actually reference. Would also love to make sprite edits of the houses, but that’s a project for another time.

I hope to work on actual comic pages soon-ish. I’ve got some pages sketched, just gotta digitize.

The comic resumes, but will Fennel be able to keep up with a regular upload schedule?! Or will she be too distracted by birds to remember to draw the next page? Tune in next Sunday evening to find out!!!

Jokes aside, it is kinda sad to me that I still struggle this much with finishing this dang chapter.

I am suddenly swamped in various projects. I have gotten incredibly busy all the sudden. And yet weirdly I got the page done faster than the past few pages. That said my head is empty and I have nothing to say at this time. 

…Well I guess I’ll say one thing: Papyrus’s last line is actually a canon Asgore line, but I felt it fit Papyrus too.

I had to stop and wonder if gravity intensifying to break up a (practice) fight quickly was too rude for Papyrus (because I have 0 confidence in how I write characters and I always question the smallest things) but I had already sketched the face-plant Suzy, and I liked it too much to change. So overlook it regardless of how in or out of character it is. 

Side note, the convention I’m going to is fast approaching so if updates get spotty again, I’m trying to finish a cosplay. Meeting up with a group and our costumes are gonna be themed so I wanna try to make it in time.

Toriel knew where this was going immediately. You will soon learn why something like this happens in the first place. Fun fact: drawing this scene was actually one of two major hurdles in getting back to writing this comic. I was so petrified of people hating this plot point and a later plot point in this chapter that I simply could not progress until recently when I've trained myself to stop caring so much.

Apologies if there’s any typos or errors on this page, I’m having a pain episode and it’s a bit of a miracle I was able to get this much done.

Shaved off some dialogue in the interest of accelerating this scene. So that’s why you go from me giving you exposition to “Well that sucks, anyway here’s what we do now.” Hoping to wrap up this scene in like 3 pages or so, then we’ll go back to House Alphyne and check in on Suzy and the rest. Maybe also see what’s going on with Flowey.

Usually when I update this comic I try to draw as many pages as I can and upload all at one as an apology for taking so long, but I think that is perpetuating the burnout. SO in an effort to get into an actual update schedule, I'm only posting this one and setting a goal. I will aim to update on Sunday nights from here on out. My old schedule was to update Saturday mornings after work, but since I've had so much burnout, giving myself all of Saturday and Sunday morning to get a page done may be my best angle to work with. That being said I kinda feel bad that this entire page is just "Writer inserts bantering with each other." This specific Woshua is the stand-in for my friend and cowriter/story brainstorm buddy, @androidreverie. Since my self-insert is the Archivist of Home(town), it made sense to have him cameo here, too. Fun fact! His little bird is actually the bird from the spines of the Nichijou Manga- Mogura. We both love Nichijou so it made sense.
