Lore dump time:

It’s no secret that the giants aren’t very good at socializing (with the one exception being Natune, the Zora).

Unfortunately for Dewpi, he feels the most like an outcast amongst his own kind, hence why he’s often seen outside of the swamp doing his own thing. His natural sense of curiosity and want to learn often drives him further away from home. It’s why he enjoys wearing manmade tunics, is seen using manmade tools, and why his way of living seems so strange and different from the rest of the dekus.

It wasn’t always like this, though. A long time ago, Dewpi was raised and set out to lead his people into a promising future. Much like how the current Deku King is ruling. However, many feared his power and what he was, so they essentially drove him out.

Dewpi cannot help but love the people he’s supposed to protect, though. No matter how much they don’t like him in return.

Presenting a proper reference sheet for the great Giant of the South: Dewpi 🍃

His old references are very outdated; some slight design changes he underwent is that his hair is much fuller and slightly longer. I also used to have the cloak leaves be two colors, but decided to just do the one color. His general shape is more defined, too.
