When I see those posts about deleting trackers from links (often just whatever comes after the ? in links), there's sometimes someone in the comments like "marketing girly here, please dont delete that stuff from links, the data it gives us is important for marketing"

Just internet search link tracking if you want to know more. I'm talking about UTM parameters here. Often, getting rid of the tracker is as simple as this. If a link looks like this: https://website/page-or-video-etc_specifier_part?=tracking_part

You just delete the question mark and everything that comes after it, like this: https://website/page-or-video-etc_specifier_part

(The parts I labled specifiers and trackers will often just be random strings of letters and numbers. The specifier is needed, the tracker you can just delete.)

The tracking is used for marketing. If you want clean links that dont log data when clicked, delete that shit. I don't personally care what the data is used for, I just don't like companies whose aim is selling stuff collecting it. I don't like sending links with the trackers attached also because it just feels like a less clean, efficient link. The link could be shorter and non tracking lmao

And it has a "sarcastic/ironic" voice, that answers with a surprisingly funny amount of cynism and irony that tempted me to download it to simply mess with it and chat with the algorithm.
