if you want to delete your tiktok account on mobile without accepting the new terms of service that tracks all your data, including sexuality, immigration status, mental diagnoses, racial and ethnic origins, and much more, here’s what you do:
go into airplane mode with wifi off
open the app — you gotta be logged into account already
navigate to settings where you see the ‘account’ option
it will buffer and not load the next window
don’t close out of the app
turn your wifi back on but keep airplane mode on
navigate back to the app
click the last option that populates under the ‘account’ screen — it should say something like ‘deactivate account’
if the terms of service window pops back up again while do this, start from the beginning again; you have to be click perfect
once you click ‘deactivate account’, the terms of service window won’t pop back up
if you reopen the app after doing all this, it should prompt you to log in and also accept the new terms of service
delete the app and data afterwards
delete your tiktok app; it isn’t worth it at all. stay safe, friends!
Time to delete TikTok. TikTok is now collecting data on you that, in this political climate, could literally endanger your life. Funny cat videos are not worth your safety folx.
Why are people on tiktok saying Saguru is 175cm???
ways i make screen-free hobbies inexpensive and remove focus on consumerism:
-i trade books with friends who also like to read
-drawing with cheap supplies, talens a5 sketchbooks cost like 5 bucks and i just use a simple pen and no other tools most of the time in mine
-doing all of my journaling, drawing, scrapbooking etc in 1 book instead of getting expensive ones or a journaling ecosystem
-going for walks outside is the best hobby there is and it is free
-if you own a printer or can print at a library, you can print out free coloring pages online instead of buying the books that go viral on tiktok
-also you do not neeeeeeeeeed alcohol markers just use whatever markers/colored pencils/whatever you have on hand or can get for cheap. you don't need to paint the mona lisa in a coloring book.
-puzzle books are very cheap, but you can also print out puzzles to do.
-thrifting things like yarn and craft supplies, asking around if anyone has hobby stuff they don't use anymore and trading with them for hobbies you've lost interest in
-be patient with aquiring new hobbies and supplies. don't jump into a new thing impulsively just bc its trendy, but take time to think about if you actually Want to do this thing/if you would even enjoy it
-dont feel the need to post your hobbies/crafts/artwork/book hauls online, so you dont feel pressure to always have the trending, viral, perfectly pristine supplies and artworks but can be imperfect safely in your own space
