Farmers March to Delhi Over India-US Trade Deal: Security Tightened at Shambhu Border
Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh have begun their march to Delhi to protest the proposed India-US trade agreement. Demonstrating under the 'Desh Bachao Morcha' banner, farmer leaders claim the deal could negatively impact agriculture, dairy, small businesses, and rural livelihoods by increasing imports of cheaper agricultural products.
With the protest gaining momentum, security has been significantly tightened at the Shambhu Border, where heavy police deployment and barricades have been put in place to maintain law and order. Farmers are expected to gather at Kisan Ghat in Delhi to voice their concerns over the trade pact and demand protection for India's farming sector.
