Angst: Questions 10,14,16 for Matt Murdock/Kate/Billy Russo
I cannot resist angst lol. Thanks for asking!
10. Write a ~300 word argument scene for them.
“Don’t.” Kate stares at him, already knowing what he’s going to try to say. “Don’t you fucking dare.”
Matt sighs, turning to her. “Kate...”
“No.” She looks at Billy who’s leaning against the wall, drinking from the coffee cup he’s holding hostage from her. “Tell him.”
Billy shrugs with one shoulder, a nervous tick she spots instantly. “You got hurt.”
“I’m fine,” she snaps.
“You’re not,” Matt says. “You know that I don’t need that machine to hear your heart. I know when you’re in pain.”
“That doesn’t matter,” Kate says. “We’ve been through this! You don’t get to make this decision.”
“Princess, we’re just worried. Your leg is…”
“I know what my leg is,” she snaps. Her throat tightens a bit and she feels tears threatening to build. “We’ve already been through this and you can’t–”
“Sweetheart,” Matt moves forward, reaching for her hand. “I…I heard you scream.”
“I know.”
“You don’t,” Billy pushes himself off of the wall. “You don’t know what it was like to get that call, to have to find you wondering if we were going to be too late.”
“I know,” her voice cracks. “But don’t do this. We just…we just figured it out.”
Billy moves forward, kissing her softly before he walks out, ignoring her calling his name. Kate looks at Matt who perches on the edge of the bed. “Don’t let him do this. Don’t push us away.”
“I’ll talk to him,” he promises. “He’s just scared. We both were.”
“I was too,” she admits. “I’m so angry and it’s not at you, it’s at this,” she motions to her leg. “I can’t do this without you both.”
14. What would be a dealbreaker?
For Kate it's cheating. For Billy it's drug use. For Matt (aside from pushing him to murder) it's habitual lying...because you can't get away with it with him.
16. If they broke up, what would be their opinions of each other?
Good but sad. Billy would mourn the one that got away and the potential loss of one of his best friends. Kate would forever miss her hero and her prince charming. Matt would regret the loss of both of them (refusing to admit it) and hope that they're safe and happy.
