This pear hazelnut galette is a simple yet elegant dessert that showcases the natural sweetness of pears complemented by the nuttiness of hazelnuts. Encased in flaky puff pastry, it's perfect for a cozy gathering or a special treat.
Ingredients: 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry. 3 ripe pears, thinly sliced. 1/2 cup hazelnuts, chopped. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 1 egg, beaten for egg wash.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. Roll out the puff pastry onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. In a bowl, combine sliced pears, chopped hazelnuts, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Arrange the pear mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the filling, pleating as needed. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
