My girlfriend bought me a coffee tumblr with your Lucifer fanart on it (winged Lucifer on the couch with Chloe and Trixie), and now when I have it at work, one of my students is obsessed with staring at it. It calms him. He says it's wholesome. Like ASMR for his eyes. I told him I'd tell you how much he likes it.

I keep holding onto the hope that Harry was a messy person who did some bad things for reasons of despiration (for his son) and weakness (you thirsty brit), but could be a good person, too. Or the Elders saw the potetial in the end for him to be better and saw themselves as offering that to him.

Oh, I def agree. I think it’s going to turn out that Harry was not evil but just also not a great person in life.

However, I think the Elders would also judge him to be worth less because of his character flaws and terrible decisions.

There’s always been something that struck me as sinister with the Elders as an organization. So I can’t completely buy into them offering James the chance for redemption in a gracious or charitable way.

The shady way they hid the existence of the Darklighters from the world and the way they just shoved the Helens into an asylum for 400 years and never tried to fix her broken psyche really reinforces my overall negative view of the Elders.

Still, the end result of this mystery might be a happy medium between your hope and my pessimism.

I think for me, as a writer I think of you as Rusty's Matchmaker. Because you're willing to see different sides of him, you're able to explore him in different timelines, so to speak-- See where he'll develop or regress, what events created him as a person. Primary with Brock, though sometimes as an AU version of him with Brock, but also with his friend/enemies/neighbors. And that's a really fun and valid way to see what the characters bring out in each other.

I kinda really latched onto this man hkdfhdskjfhsfjkdsfh.

I want him to be better and to get better, like I know he has good in him, he started out as someone who threw himself on top of a bomb to save his dog but trauma changes a person. Years of people telling you are a failure kinda becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I know Rusty is kinda a garbage person but like I know he can be better, so I try to write about it.

AU Rusty is so good, I love him so much, he feels like a version of Rusty who at least tries more and I just ship Rusty with everyone. He can have chemistry with everyone, this isn’t up for debate.

I'm pretty happy that we made Culberson fuck off so far. Really frustrated about Beto, but we got a lot close than I'd hoped. I like the idea that we have to make them fight tooth and nail for what they assumed would be a given.

I hope Cruz had a case of nervous diarrhea watching those results roll in.

Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

Long, long ago, way back in late 2010/early 2011...I shipped..........k/laine.....I was over it by the time they kissed purely because of the fandom around them and how they, even back then, were being truly unfair towards Kurt and praising everything the other one did. I grew to dislike them even more when they became canon, but the fans ruined it for me.

Also, I was kind of into St/erek on Teen Wolf before the fandom went fucking nuts with it and made all these dumb “Stiles in the pack mom” memes that were just. Yikes. A lot.

Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

The ships mentioned above for sure. And the shows as well. G/lee in particular is, of course, the biggest example. I have a whole blog’s worth of salt on here lmfao. I also used to love Once Upon a Time until s2 when the spoilers came out that August was going to be turned back into a little boy. As soon as I found that out, I stopped watching, even though I still ship Snowing so hard core.

Unpopular opinion about your fandom?

I honestly don’t think I have unpopular opinions about any fandoms I’m in. Maybe just that I think the Arrested fandom has been the best one I’ve been in because it’s small and all.

What kind of stuff do you like to write?

i haven’t actually written ANYTHING before

except for work like website copy, brochure copy etc. those things.

if i had the motivation to write what i wanted, i’d like to do sci-fi maybe but the YA kind hAH

I'm 99% sure that in our timeline, there was a song in the musical that was so homoerotic that if Rusty had shown it to anyone else, he'd first deny that it was and then cut it with prejudice.

If it did actually happen in the canon time line, this is how I imagine it:

Rusty writes an entire ode to his love for Brock.

Jared, the only person who liked his musical enough to listen to it and sing with him for like six hours, asks if maybe he has a crush on his body guard.

Rusty immediately burns the sheet music and lyrics to that segment of the show, probably burning himself in the process and nearly burning down the building.
