ohhhhh man. So the entirety of VHSCC has its grip on me, but especially this part of the show (Panic Attack: The Song, my beloved <3) and what started as a mindless sketch got my brain going and here we are 19 hours later, lol.

also Della and Jim now own a solid 80% of my heart??? I will absolutely be making more art of both of them and that is a threat.

Genuinely, I just love Jim and Della so much, and the fact that, even with just a short story like this, we can already tell just how much the two love each other really is a testament to how absolutely amazing Curt and Janaya are as actors.

okay the "Scrooge Adopts LMG" idea is fantastic and I love it, 10/10, but consider:

Jim is coming home from work one night and finds LMG looking for shelter because she didn't sell any matches and can't go home 'cause her dad fuckin sucks, and it's so cold out, and only gonna get colder. His and Della's apartment is already barely big enough for the two of them and more than a little drafty but, shit, it's gotta be a million times better than sleeping out on the cold, cold streets, so he offers the kid a bed (lumpy couch) for the night. When they get in Della's like "...ok" and after an already light supper that wound up getting split with a whole extra person (who wolfed it down like she hadn't seen food in days, good lord) they get her settled on the couch with some blankets and turn in to their own cramped bedroom for the night. When they close the door Della just looks at him for a minute (she's been a little quieter than usual all evening, and he's only a tiny bit worried because he knows she's a kind & loving person who'd wanna help this girl but his offer was uhhhh pretty impulsive and they're in this together, he shouldn't've made that decision alone, oops) but when she speaks the first thing that comes out is:

"Jimmy, did we just adopt a kid?"

"...Maybe?"
