The Delphic Fraternity was originally founded as the Delphic Society on Oct. 13, 1871 at the Geneseo State Normal School (today SUNY Geneseo.) The Delphic Society at Geneseo traces its history back to the founding of the Delphic Society at the University of Rochester on Nov. 2, 1850. William J. Milne, mentioned in this 1866 ad, was a member of the Delphic Society at Rochester and later became the first principal at the Geneseo Normal School. Principal Milne was instrumental in the founding of the Delphic Society at Geneseo (today the Delphic Fraternity.)
