After a long and hard fight Del came to realise as much as she and Waythe got along, she was not suited to fight for him. She was nimble and quick, not strong and resilient... she was holding Waythe and her team back.
Speaking to her sentient friend she then approached Petra, holding out the legendary greatsword before explaining both she and Waythe had come to the decision that he could be of more help by Petra’s side. That if he stayed in Del’s hands then his full power couldn’t be used, and given the situation they needed all the help they could get.
Once Petra set her hand upon the blade Del smiled and said ‘I know you’ll take care of him’, then released her hold on her newfound friend, soothed with the knowledge Waythe will get the fight he deserves, and Petra would get the strength to protect the ones she loved.
