Rushing this Fall! :/ Super nervous but excited nonetheless
Initiation, Chapter and 3D! Oh my!
Saturday we had initiation in which my third little was initiated! I'm so proud of her and I know she is going to be a great leader in this chapter! I never thought I would just love sitting through initiation. Some people get bored and start yawning. Some people just don't care but when everything starts and I am reminded of our founders and why they started this amazing fraternity, and I just want to strive to be a strong woman like they were! Re-learning all of our ritual and secrets gives me chills because I know that I am one of the few women who get to experience the incredible bond that Phi Mu has given all of her sisters!
Last night was amazing as well! We had chapter first and I ended up getting the Outstanding Executive Member (I'm Academic Excellence Chairman) and Study Queen of the Year which feels incredible! I did not realize that my sisters thought of me as outstanding and to be able to receive that small painted plaque made me feel like the greatest person in the world! One of our sisters made an amazing video that I think reminded us all of what it truly means to be a Phi Mu. There were plenty of tears and the seniors have taught me so much even though I have only been at this chapter for one year! I will miss them so much!
This week will be rough though. I have to write a few more 3D letters for my initiation chapter. The closing of a chapter hurts but at this point, I think it's essential for them and probably for the best. I still miss all of them and I learned that transferring chapters is one of the hardest things that I ever had to do but I have grown more and learned more from this experience. Two of my best friends have to go alum on Saturday even though they should have had another year in a wonderful chapter full of sisterhood but unfortunately things were not in their favor. I think these letters will be the most painful ones I will ever write because I have had so many great memories with them. I am caught between a closing chapter and a flourishing one so I'm not feeling exactly what they are feeling. It hurts but maybe more will come from this. Only time will tell.
I know we've changed but Change can be so good So let's not forget why It's understood that Time, look where we are and what we've been through Time, sharing our dreams Time, goes on and on everyday, baby Time is what it is Come what may (come what may) - Backstreet Boys
