@cheesycatz fic “Worm in the Apple” has given me ACTUAL clinically diagnosable brainworms istg. Identity deception? Found family? Tentatively sympathetic horrors? This is so specifically tailored to my personal tastes it feels like a goddamn psy op. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find literature where the physically and mentally unwell Resident-Evil-bioweapon-esque creature is a compelling and endearing character???
